We Are Marathon Pets

The question we get asked most often is “How did you come up with that idea?” Our journey started with the same question so many pet owners ask themselves… “I wonder how far they run on that thing!?”

We set out to satisfy our own curiosity and the further we got the better the wheel design looked and the smarter the features became. As we started to share what we were working on, we stared to see a change in people who were tracking their pets activity with the wheel. It was as if they were on the sidelines and now they were in the game. They would wake up and be excited to see how far their pet had run that night. It started to create a bond between owner and pet that hadn’t been possible before.

We were then amazed even further when we started to see how much more in tune owners were becoming with their pets. They were able to notice changes in their pets activity and now had the tool to try different things and try and improve their quality of life. Everything from the changing the amount of light the cage got to the food they were eating. We even had a pet who’s owner had to leave for an extended period of time and even though the pet was fed and looked after by a caregiver the pets activity reduced drastically while they were gone. Upon the owners return we saw a sudden jump back up in activity which showed us the bond the pets really do have with their owners.

As we continue to learn more about the animals and their owners, Marathon Pets expanded beyond its singular focus of creating a smart exercise wheel and began focusing on how we can improve the relationship between owners and their pets. ❤️
